Apple is not unknown for changing up their product's names when a new product is released. And they don't always follow logic or rules. iPhone 5 that's actually an iPhone 6th gen? iPad 2 followed twice by an iPad with retina display? So if we agree that Apple's productnames are more marketing-driven, than logic-driven, and taking into account the rumored 5.5" iPhone I think the chances are fairly large at Apple will redefine their line-up next year with new names:
- the iPhone mini Color, or the current 5c with 5s innards.
- the iPhone mini, new faster hardware in a form factor resembling the current iPad Air or mini. Same size as the current iPhone 5s.
- the iPhone Air, new hardware in a form factor resembling the current iPad Air or mini. With of course a bigger screen.
No more jumbling numbers and letters, just a clear grid. Mini is smaller than Air. Same speed, just smaller.
Oh, and while we're on it: a 32GB storage baseline please.
